CHOICES

Upon reflection, all was lost,

Yet innocent enough not to count the cost,

He stood among his peers,

Taunts of derision filled his ears,

Who was he to be so bold,

When others knew better,

When others had told him,

Not to believe in all he heard,

From the voice from within,

They said it was absurd,

But he was not to be denied,

He lived his life although they tried,

To force him to live as they did,

To shape up and conform,

He knew inside his innocent heart,

His life was not the norm,

That others believed it wise to be,

For he was blessed,

Beyond compare,

To follow his voice,

That came from nowhere
